Canada's Government and History
Canada has a constitutional monarchy, which means the Queen or King holds executive power. Then comes the prime minister which is the head (in charge) of the government.

The Canadian government has two levels
1) Federal Government: Taxes, trading market, money/banking, post office, defense, Aboriginal people, criminal law, fishing, relations with other government
2) Provincial Government: Direct taxes, education, natural resources, civil law, language, culture, cities
3) Federal and Provincial Government: Agriculture, Immigration, Health

There have been some issues in the history of the Canadian Government such as:
- The war of 1754, between the French and the British, which ended in 1763, which was named "The Treaty of Paris".
- The war of 1812, when United States launched an invasion in June 1812. 480 soldiers died mostly French Canadians, who turned back 4,000 Americans.
These 2 issues occurred before Canada confederated and therefore, didn't have a big impact on the country's quality of life.
Canada is governed with a constitutional monarchy. This in our belief is a great government system, that is fair. It allows the citizens with peace, rights, and freedoms. This affects Canada's quality of life in a positive way. Living in Canada means that you WILL have your human rights and freedoms. Isn't Canada amazing!?

There are 3 branches to the Canadian government:
Legislative branch: Is made up of the two houses of Congress—the Senate and the House of Representatives. The duty of this branch is to make laws. Laws are written and discussed and voted on in congress.
Executive Branch: Is represented by the governor general, prime minister, and the cabinet. The executive branch makes decisions required to maintain the rule of the laws.
Judiciary Branch: The court systems of local, states, and federal government. It deals with criminal cases and also civil cases.

Haiti's History
1492- History of Haiti began in 1492 when Christopher Columbus came to a nearby to a city of Cap-Haitian, and claimed the island for Spain.
1503- The first Africans were brought for labor work
1508- Spain's African Slave trade was officially established.
1625- French settled in Tortuga Island
1751- Volunteer Haitian Slaves, led by french went to go fight against the British in the American Revolutionary War
1791, 20th August- A force of African and Slaves defeated the Europeans near Port- Au- Prince
1773- declared the establishment of slavery
1804- Haiti declares day of independence

Haiti's Government has a multiparty system. A multiparty system is where the president of Haiti is the head of state elected directly by popular elections.
